Silat Silo Macan comes from Condet area, East Jakarta. Its prominent figure is Entong Gendut, a Betawi hero who was famous for his Villa Nova rebellion against the Dutch colonial.
Like other Betawi silat, Silat Silo Macan has a defensive character and knows no kicks. But the combination of several styles makes the character of the martial arts’ movement look unique. The distinctive feature of Silo Macan, for example, can be seen from its low stances. Beginners are trained to do such low stances, that they practice under the table.
Another unique concept is locking. The opponent’s captured hand is locked to knock out or to use it to manage the next attack.
